How Long? Not Long.

Post-Racial America???

As we all know the health care bill passed through the house this past Sunday with a 219-212 vote. Regardless of how you feel about the bill I am here to ask the question, has America really become a post racial society? With the election of President Obama allot of us would have liked to believe that we had, but realist know that change doesn’t occur that swiftly. Yes, his election did mark the beginning in symbolic change but concrete change has yet to come to fruition.

When government officials are harassed by Tea Party protesters that are at the very least egged on by other government officials has a line been crossed?

Some might say that the harsh undertone of all this anger is a deep seated homophobic and racially charged ideology.

As Keith Olberman said “sure there are African, Latino and Asian American citizens out there who are opposed to some of the decisions made by the Obama Administration…where are they?”

introduction

No Lie Can Live Forever... These words were taken from the speech given by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on March 22, 1965 in Montgomery AL.; I chose these very words to name my blog because I believe in its authenticity. I believe that although many people may live in darkness with time they come to see truth, which all people are created equal and everyone has the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Anyone or anything denying these inalienable rights cannot be ignored or overlooked.
